We provide a complete and comprehensive set of treatments for painful and unsightly veins of all sizes from huge varicose veins to tiny spider veins.  Dr. Craig Wilkinson and Dr. Kenneth Seifert are Vascular Surgeons and each have decades of experience with the diagnosis and treatment of vein problems.   Dr. Wilkinson is certified by the American Board of Phlebology and Dr. Seifert is certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery.

Spider veins on the legs are often a manifestation of an underlying problem with the saphenous vein.  The valves in the saphenous vein may be leaking backwards.  This is called “valvular incompetence.”  This leads to leg pain, restless legs and varicose veins and spider veins.  Untreated, it can lead to venous ulcers and superficial thrombophlebitis.  It can even cause deep vein thrombosis.  We usually treat varicose veins and spider veins with minimally invasive techniques that allow you to return to most normal activities in 2 or 3 days.

We treat the valvular incompetence of the saphenous vein by closing it with heat using local anesthesia and a radiofrequency catheter (VNUS) or a catheter and laser (EVLT).  We remove large varicose veins with microphlebectomy and treat spider veins with injection sclerotherapy and laser sclerotherapy.
